Why Weight Matters

No matter how you look at it, your body weight matters. For a lot of people, the main motivation for losing weight is to look better. But there are more reasons to shed those unwanted pounds. When you stop to think about, would you rather live a healthier life, or one that is overshadowed by failing health? All of these are reasons why it makes perfect sense to lose weight.

Did you know that in U.K. alone 9,000 people a year die from obesity? In the U.S., There are a staggering 110,000 obesity related deaths each year. Being obese also shortens your lifespan by about 10 years. Recent studies show:

The number one cause of type two diabetes is obesity, there is also numerous health problems related to being obese. From high cholesterol, to hypertension, gastrointestinal problems, and different types of cancers, the list seems to be endless. With so many correlated health problems, it makes sense to lose weight.

The main issue here is how we view food. We are so caught up in instant gratification and we want everything now. We carry this same philosophy when we try to lose weight. That is why we need to break this detrimental pattern of behavior. All we do is make matters worse by associating food with pleasure and easing the pain. Some of us use it to alleviate the stress we feel inside.

This is why it is important to stop viewing food as a crutch and enact a plan to lose weight. We need to allow ourselves time to see results, and push forth even when times are tough. It usually takes a good three weeks or longer to begin seeing results. When we do, we can begin adapting to the healthier lifestyle we have acquired for ourselves.

Here is how you can be successful at losing weight:

  • Cut back on how much you eat, this includes your caloric intake. All food that is eaten needs to be carefully proportioned. Drinks that you consume also need to be monitored.
  • Incorporate physical activity into your daily routine. You can start out light, but after a few weeks begin gradually increasing your output and you will begin to see results.
  • Keep it up. Even on days when you feel less motivated or no motivation, tell yourself its alright to feel like this once in a while. Not everything will always be peachy. The important thing is to keep at it.
  • Consume more fruits and veggies. Eating more produce will provide nutrients your body needs, plus many fruits will help to satisfy a sweet tooth.
  • Do not attempt the impossible diet or fad diets. These will only backfire on you. When you try to cut back too much, your body begins to work against you. Losing weight is already tough, don’t make it harder than it needs to be.
  • Consider a weight loss tea supplement such as Tava Tea to aid your efforts. You’ll lose weight faster and the extra momentum will keep your mind on track and help you stay strong and beat cravings.
  • Always consult with a doctor prior to starting any type of weight loss program.
